Room 34 Creative Services, LLC (creator of ICS Calendar) takes privacy seriously. Although we are based in the United States, a large portion of ICS Calendar users are based in Europe, and we strive to create a product that adheres to GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) guidelines. We welcome feedback to help us continue to improve our compliance.
User data collection and privacy considerations within the ICS Calendar plugin
Neither ICS Calendar nor ICS Calendar Pro stores any end user data, nor do they include any type of analytics/tracking features.
Cookies
ICS Calendar does not store any cookies whatsoever. ICS Calendar Pro stores one cookie. The cookie is used solely to “remember” the user’s toggle settings (e.g. month/list tabs in Month view, which feed on/off in the legend, etc.). No personal data is collected, and the cookie expires at the end of the browsing session.
Fonts and JavaScript assets
Custom open source fonts included with ICS Calendar Pro are embedded directly in the plugin, and do not access Google Fonts or any other external service. All JavaScript in both versions of the plugin is self-contained within the plugin, or relies on the built-in jQuery in WordPress; no external CDNs are used.
Calendar data
ICS Calendar is designed to retrieve calendar event data from external calendar sources and display it within your WordPress website. ICS Calendar caches the retrieved data locally on your web server, for performance. We do not have any access to the retrieved data.
Bear in mind that your source calendar server’s privacy policies may differ from ours, and that your calendars may contain sensitive data. It is your responsibility to manage the calendar content that ICS Calendar retrieves and displays on your website.
User locale data
ICS Calendar Pro includes an option to display calendar events in the user’s local timezone. In order to render the calendar properly, JavaScript is used to detect the timezone setting on the user’s device, which is relayed to the server via AJAX, to calculate the correct event times. This data is not retained on the server.
Customer data collection and privacy considerations on the ICS Calendar website
The ICS Calendar website (icscalendar.com) uses WooCommerce for order transactions. Payments are processed through Stripe and/or PayPal. Customer data is collected as a part of order transactions and shared with these payment processing partners as needed. Data is retained on the website indefinitely to facilitate ongoing account access and renewals, but can be deleted at customer request. Please use our support form to request deletion of your data. (Be aware that we must retain your data if you are continuing to actively use your product license.)
The ICS Calendar website also uses the Jetpack plugin for various site optimizations, including basic site usage statistics. We do not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Facebook Pixel, or any other type of external analytics/tracking tools.
Only the customer data related to the purchase of the ICS Calendar Pro license is collected by our website. We do not have any access whatsoever to the data of users of your website, even when the plugin is active on your site.
