Today ICS Calendar version 10.11.1 and ICS Calendar Pro version 4.8.2 are available.
These are maintenance releases, with a moderate severity bug fix, along with some parity feature updates for Pro — adding support for new shortcode parameters into the Calendar Builder.
The bug fix involves an issue with caching. Specifically, a recent update to a pair of default shortcode values caused ICS Calendar’s transients in the wp_options
table to be named improperly, both rendering the caching ineffective and causing an explosion of redundant entries in the table.
Updating to version 10.11.1 should clear up the redundant entries automatically, but if it does not, you can purge them manually by clicking the Clear Cached Calendar Data button on the ICS Calendar admin settings page.
The changes in ICS Calendar Pro mainly involve the Calendar Builder. In addition to reorganizing the options under the Advanced tab, this version introduces support for a handful of new shortcode parameters introduced in recent ICS Calendar (free) updates, specifically: combinemultiday
, hideprivateevents
, and the three HTML heading tag-related parameters: htmltagtitle
, htmltagmonth
and htmltagdate
.
