Being based in the United States, I tend to have a somewhat skewed perspective on where people are using ICS Calendar. I do know that I tend to receive the largest number of support requests from users in the European Union… especially from Germany and the Netherlands. So I knew those countries had a lot of users… or at least users who speak up when something isn’t working right for them!
I do enjoy manipulating numbers in spreadsheets, but I also want to avoid collecting invasive amounts of user data — both for compliance with GDPR (and similar rules elsewhere), but also just because I believe in privacy and not sharing personal information unnecessarily.
So, I don’t have any sort of analytics built into the plugin, and I’ve stopped using Google Analytics on the website. (Full disclosure: I do use Jetpack’s basic site analytics.)
I don’t really have a way of knowing where people are using the free ICS Calendar plugin, but I do — necessarily — have the contact information for people who have purchased ICS Calendar Pro. So I decided to look at the numbers. I tallied up the number of purchases by country, and put together a table of countries, ranked by their percentage of the total number of ICS Calendar Pro customers.
People in 44 countries have purchased ICS Calendar Pro. (Thank you!) Here are the top 20 countries:

If I wanted to get really nerdy, I might additionally weight the rankings by total population, to see where ICS Calendar is the most popular. But I suspect most ICS Calendar users would prefer to have me spend that time continuing to improve the plugin and add new features, so that’s what I plan to do!
